Default Pure mesmer GVG build?

Ever think about using 4 mesmers, 2 eles, and 2 monks?

The 4 mesmers should be secondary warriors. Conjure Phatasm, Back fire, and that skill which causes ALL skills on a targeted foe to recharge will be key, the rest of the dmg builds r up to you, you make want some energy & dmg buffs.

2 eles~ Each ward eles, both secondary ranger for recharging skills. Set up some wards, set up your team in an area. each ele should change on and off in casting wards.

2 monks~ 1 prot, 1 heal. The usual for these dudes.

This really isnt in depth... but do you think it could work?

IGN~ Ser Lan Loras

You only ever need one Warder to keep them up 100% of the time. And you really shouldn't base your defense off of wards.

In short, no. There is no damage, so all of that scary backfire spam doesn't do jack all. You could try to work some sort of spike out, but then you aren't going to have Mesmers with Conjure spam. Signet of Devotion > this build.

Yes it could work lol

Firstly your mesmers needs IW, to stop them being raped they need distortion, and sympethetic visage.

Now about the enchant removal, it will ruin your day basically so you want lots of covers. Tainted Necro maybe, bonder or even vigorour spirit would be good.

You will punish any warrior heavy team without much hex removal, you will be raped by spike teams.

It would be a gimmic build but what did you expect?

Please don't encourage people to run IW in PvP.

A guild called The Bulgarians ran a very heavy Mesmer build that contained, if I remember correctly, four or five mesmers, one or two necros, and two monks. Two used Migraine to hit casters and flung some degen around, along with a Surge/Burn Dom Mesmer with some interupts. Necros flung around Warrior hate, and spread more degen. A Mesmer was used a runner with Crippling Anguish. The Monks monked. I beleive everyone but the Boon-Prot had Distortion. I forget what they used to spike, but they got fairly high up the ladder a few months ago.

Nasty nasty build, I hated facing that. On top of the huge mesmer caster hate, they also had gale on two or three of the mesmers. Fast-Cast Gale made my cry tears of pain playing monk against them.

Whether that build would be so viable in todays metagame is a different question.

If anything, it would be more viable. The nerfs to Holy Veil, Heal Party, and the Denravi helm made mass hex degen much, much nastier. Stick in a Mantra of Recovery Interrupter or a Choking Gas Ranger to partially make up for the lack of Gale, work a spike in, and you have a scary build.

While this is all true, W/Mo's regularly bring CoP now - and it seems that more characters in the team bring hex removal so instead of hexes being the kings of GW like I expected post-patch they are still just a nuicance as people are more prepared for them
